In my last post I wrote briefly about some future innovation. Here I’d like to touch base on some other stuff I thought was somewhat worth posting…

A partnership between Universals Studio, Hasbro Inc, and DreamWorks could lead to the first Transformers theme park in 2011. Singapore will be lucky enough to possibly have the theme park one year ahead of the US in 2010. Not super big but I wouldn’t mind checking it out sometime down the road.
BMW Car Key and Credit Card 2-in-1

This isn’t something super new and have been a long topic of discussion in the past years but it looks like BMW is finally going forward with the idea of making its car keys also function as a credit card.
Dark Knight 2-Disc Blu-Ray to include Limited Edition BatPod

Not very big news but if you’re an avid movie collector, especially for Blu-Rays and DVDs, the Dark Knight Limited Edition 2-Disc set will include a BatPod with it.
Goog 411 built-in Button on GE Phone

GE designed a new home phone that now comes with an automatic Goog 411 button. For those who don’t know, Goog 411 is Google’s very own free 411 directory phone number. The normal number to access Goog 411 is 1 (800) GOOG - 411 or 1 (800) 466 - 4411. It seems as though Google encompasses everything these days. Check out this old video on how Goog 411 works.
TrueCall to Help Block Unwanted Calls

Nothing super profound but still pretty cool to have around. This device works to blacklist any incoming calls you don’t want and will screen unknown numbers first and give you the option if you want to answer the call or not. There have been times where my cell phone number was leaked and unfortunately cell phone carriers don’t have a way to blacklist calls. This also applies to those awful infomercial guys who call to sell you stuff. In any event, this device would come in handy for something like that. Although I don’t think it would work directly with a cell phone, you can always have it attached to some existing number and have it forwarded over to your phone after all black listed numbers have been detected and rejected.
Just to let you know, that Google phone number only works for business listings.
To get business, gov’t, and residential listings, you’re better off using 1-800-FREE411. You can also use FREE-411 to get driving directions texted to your cell — this is convenient for those of us who don’t have browsers on our cell phones (still the majority of people).
interesting…
Hi Jay,
I’ve used 1 (800) Free 411 as well and it does definitely serve its purpose. However I dislike having to go through the advertising commercials before proceeding with my calls and I would only use 411 service for business listings hence the reason for preferring Goog 411 service. It’s just a personal preference but I have used your service as well.
The main emphasis on this post was mainly to point out the GE Phone with a built-in Goog 411 button, not so much on the service itself. But thanks for commenting, I greatly appreciate the feedback.
